BNEW, the ultimate showcase of the productive economy

The Barcelona New Economy Week (BNEW), organised by the CZFB, has firmly established itself as the premier international event for the new economy, drawing standout participation from professionals around the world. Over four days, a wide range of sessions, panels, and debates took place, focusing on the emerging socioeconomic challenges that companies, large corporations, and start-ups face as they digitise their operations.

The sixth edition of BNEW highlighted that, amid rapid digitalisation, constant change demands continuous adaptation. The event emphasised the importance of business collaboration: 70.3 % of companies are already developing cross-sector projects, while 26.9 % want to collaborate but aren’t sure how to get started. BNEW 2025 helped drive real progress in this area. Additionally, 46.7 % of companies are already partnering with start-ups, and 41.6 % are considering it to boost current business innovation.

Automation, AI, and the Quantum Revolution

The 3rd New Economy Observatory, conducted as part of BNEW, reveals that 71.5 % of companies say they already use AI applications in their daily operations, with 15.6 % planning to adopt them soon. Among start-ups, this figure rises to 79.2 %, with 9.3 % intending to incorporate AI shortly. The same study shows that nearly all surveyed companies plan to invest in AI, Big Data, Blockchain, or other technologies – though in 83.3 % of cases, the planned investment amount is under €100,000.

BNEW exceeded all expectations and solidified its position as the go-to meeting point for finding solutions to the challenges posed by the new economy. For those few days, BNEW became the capital of the future economy – the productive economy – offering companies a unique opportunity, added value, and a competitive edge.

In this sense, BNEW once again proved the effectiveness of connecting and bridging different sectors, because today we live in a global, interconnected economy, both geographically and across industries.
