On 15 September, the Women’s Council of the Barcelona Free Zone held an event at DFactory Barcelona to mark its fifth anniversary. The gathering featured participation from Clara Arpa, President of the UN Global Compact in Spain, and Blanca Sorigué, CEO of the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB). The event brought together 26 female executives from the companies that make up the Council a space for reflection and commitment to promoting active policies in favour of gender equality.
Founded just before the outbreak of the pandemic, the Women’s Council of the Free Zone has established itself five years later – in a very different context – as a useful and effective tool. Through dialogue, collaboration, and a firm commitment to equal opportunities in business, it has driven initiatives that have led to significant progress. Nevertheless, its work remains essential, as there is still a long way to go to achieve real and effective equality in companies.
