Fundación AVAN triples its care capacity thanks to the CZFB

In October, Pere Navarro, the Special Delegate of the State at the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), visited the new Fundación AVAN centre in Terrassa, accompanied by the organisation’s president, Cristina Urriza, and CEO, Anna Soler. The new centre is located in a renovated former industrial textile mill, symbolising urban and social renewal in Terrassa, and represents a major qualitative leap in neurological care for the city. Thanks to these new facilities, AVAN will be able to serve more people, provide more consistent treatments, and create new neurorehabilitation groups to meet the growing demand for therapies related to Parkinson’s, cognitive stimulation, and multiple sclerosis. Additionally, Terrassa now has Petit AVAN for the first time – a space tailored to the needs of young children and their families, offering comprehensive therapeutic care for children and adolescents with neurological conditions. Petit AVAN includes a gym and climbing wall equipped with specialised materials for paediatric neurorehabilitation, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy, as well as psychology, neuropsychology, and speech therapy consultations. In total, the service will be able to care for around 60 children per year. With this new centre, Fundación AVAN strengthens its mission to improve the quality of life for people with neurological diseases and their families, bringing neurorehabilitation closer to the community and prioritising comprehensive, humane, and accessible care.
