Corporate Social Responsibility has become a cornerstone in a 21st century full of challenges and opportunities. In this context, the mission, vision and values of the CZFB have been aligned with the objectives of the 2030 Agenda since its inception. This Agenda is conceived as an action plan for people, the planet, and prosperity, covering environmental, social, and corporate & institutional governance dimensions. Working towards sustainable development forms an essential part of our commitment to society.
In 2025, we celebrated the tenth anniversary of the adoption by the United Nations of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda. The SDGs promote prosperity, equity and environmental protection, guiding governments, businesses and citizens towards inclusive, responsible, sustainable, global and shared development.
El Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB) es miembro del Pacto Mundial desde 2017 y ha situado los ODS en el centro de todas sus actividades, priorizando las acciones que permitan avanzar en el cumplimiento de los retos y objetivos de la Agenda 2030:
The CZFB has agreements to promote dual vocational training in companies. The organisation is firmly committed to quality education, driving programmes that foster digital and technological skills, STEM vocations and equal opportunities. Through initiatives and strategic partnerships, it connects education, innovation and industry to prepare future generations.
The Consortium drives the Barcelona Free Zone Women’s Council, the first of its kind in the industrial sector, with the aim of working towards parity in the sector. It also promotes BWAW (Barcelona Women Accelerating Women), a hybrid event whose objective is to accelerate and energise gender equality and help achieve full participation and equal opportunities for women in the industrial sector at both local and global levels.
The organisation has promoted various initiatives focused on the development of affordable and non-polluting energies. Particularly noteworthy are the installation of photovoltaic panels in the Free Zone Industrial Park and the partnership with Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) to create a hydrogen refuelling station in the Free Zone.
The CZFB promotes the Barcelona New Economy Week (BNEW), an event whose goal is to address technological challenges and position Barcelona as the capital of the new economy.
The Consortium drives several high-impact initiatives such as the Logistics 4.0 Incubator, the first high-tech incubator in Europe, and DFactory Barcelona, the leading Industry 4.0 hub in southern Europe.
The organisation promotes a policy of encouraging sustainable mobility in the Barcelona Free Zone.
The CZFB promotes communal waste collection in the Free Zone and encourages the use of renewable sources for energy production.
The organisation works permanently to seek alliances to achieve its objectives. It also strongly believes in public-private collaboration as the best way to build solid, long-lasting projects.
